Hi, my name is Keri, and there are weeds in my flower beds. They're eagerly telling the tale of my summer -- the good and the not-so-good all tangled up together. I'm happy to see August & the promise of smoother sailing ahead (and some time to pull those weeds). I've even been feeling a slight chill in the very early morning air.. possibly?
Piecing together natural flagstones on the patioThe patio project is rocking along, but delayed by those nagging unforeseen hiccups and the rainiest summer I can remember in the longest time. This week alone it has rained every. single. day. But soon.. very soon.. I will have something more to show you.
The new Francis Meilland hybrid tea roses, above, that I wrote about have found happy homes flanking a large window in one of the new planting beds that edge the patio. They're already growing by leaps.
Debra of 5th and State has been busy adding to her informative patio series, and her help and good advice on this backyard renovation is surely helping to keep me focused. You must read her posts on outdoor furniture and outdoor room ceilings.
String Lights, Apartment Therapy.
And speaking of patio ceilings, I've decided a starry night sky is my outdoor ceiling of choice with festival lights for occasions and umbrellas for daytime.. in case it happens to become sunny ever again.
Speaking of blue dishes... Pottery Barn's Montauk outdoor melamine plates are too cool...
Pottery Barn melamine plates, set of 4 on sale for $28.50
Also check out the unbreakable low ball glasses from The Enchanted Home Shop here.
And in other news, somewhere in ancient history I wrote about redoing my daughter's room. I've finally ordered fabrics for bedding & upholstery to go with the furniture I bought last spring. You can see my inspiration board for her room here on Pinterest.
The chinoiserie-esque fabric is Scalamandre Floreale. The diamond and the silk stripe are from Calico Corners.
By the way, have you checked out Scalamandre - The Third Floor? Full of discounts and discontinued items, its a great place to get some gorgeous stuff and save some dough, and it's where I picked up the Floreale fabric.

And of course, I'm still on Pinterest, too.
So if any of those happen to be your cup of tea, I'll see you there!
Happy long, late days of summer,
